Original "knife switches" formerly controlled all the wayside train signals as well as light throughout the terminal. With Metro North's signal power upgrade completed and the the new Train Control Center open, only a few antique pumps in the service plant still use the 25 cycle, 2,300 volt AC power controlled by these switches.
