Family reunification is an important
cornerstone at Steinway. At the main clinic, they work with families
to help them understand the issues of the emotionally disturbed child
and help them cope with their problems for daily living.
The ultimate goal: to reunite children with their families before the
children become teenagers. Age 13 is the cutoff point for residents.
By that age, if reunification with teh family is impossible, then the
option of placing the teen in an adolescent group home or into foster
care are considered.
