ilian has adjusted well to her new family. Although she continues to be shy, she speaks more and has taken charge with the young children instructing them how to wash clothes and to cook. In the past month that I have known Lilian, she has continued to bloom into a beautiful woman. Even with an eighth grade education, she has a talent for English and now confidently teaches the younger children or corrects Risper when we are chatting. With few friends and even fewer plans for the future, Lilian is emphatic about her destiny. "I only need Jesus," she says to me. And this is true. I am thankful that Lilian, this small woman with the shy smile and nervous eyes, was saved both spiritually and emotionally.
