The subjects were members of a brain tumor support group. It happened that all the members of the group were white. I don't know if that is simply coincidence or if brain tumors disproportionately affect whites over people of color. But at the moment in time when we produced this project all the members of the group were white. Thanks for your thoughts on the subject.

A poignant essay that is full of hope about survivors of brain tumors.

I am, however, a little concerned that all thirteen of your subjects were white. Do people from other communities not suffer from brain tumors? I am curious to know how these 13 came to be selected as representative of this horrible disease.
