erhaps cinema is the modern medium with the most stories to tell. With a never-ending parade of stars heading for the yearly Academy Awards, some history and storytelling is good for background. Ray Farkas's production for American Movie Classics about actors and a producer from the early glory years of cinema provides fascinating recollections. With producer and director Mel Shavelson, character actors Turhan Bey, Norman Lloyd and Gloria Stewart and leading lady Virginia Mayo, the quintet shares their stories over a brunch in Los Angeles. Their film credits include Hitchcock's Saboteur, The Invisible Man, Dead Poets' Society and The Flight of the Arrow.
